Sleeping Dogs is an action-adventure game developed by United Front Games and published by Square Enix`s European subsidiary. The game is set in an open world environment of Hong Kong city and played from a third-person perspective. The protagonist is Wei Shen,a Chinese-American undercover police officer who infiltrates the Sun On Yee Triad organization.

to set the game original the game developers took interviews of ex-triad members and Hong Kong retired police officers. the games are set on Hong Kong because of that the development team stayed for a week and clicked 20,000 photos to make the game environment real.
The sound designer also stayed for 10 and the took the city’s dialog sections and captured ambient noise.
The name of the Japanese version of the game is Hong Kong secret Police and in this version, if you killed or beat any civilian you will get a penalty, and the street races also not added.
The gangs of the game Sun On Yee and 18k both gangs are based on real-life gangs Sun Yee On and 14k.
In march 2017 a movie based on sleeping dogs is announced and its produced by Neal H.Moritz and the role of Wei Shen is given to Donnie Yen the release date is not announced but last in 2018 yen shared in social media that the movie is in production.(after that we any update is not found)
We can find the reference of Just cause 2 in game there is one radio station that advertises about the panau island is a nice destination for tourists and just cause 2 is also set on Panau island.
In Intensive care mission one enemy say a dialog line to Wei Shen (ENEMY:-Hey ugly! Tell me where po is,or i shoot your face off!) (Wei Shen :- You`re gonna shoot my face off?For some reason,I just don`t see that happening.) In this dialog the face off is a movie which directed by John Woo is popular by making action movies of Hong Kong.
When will sleeping dogs 2 come?
In 2013 United Front Games announced that the sequel of sleeping dogs which will the most ambitious game of the studio and for this game with many new features and plans but unfortunately the game was canceled and now United Front Games is officially closed down.
